Pedestrian Roads

The University of Baghdad has pedestrian roads with a main path with a length of more than (3.5) km inside its campus. Such a road enables students and Staff/Faculty members to reach the main gate and all institutions that belong to the University.  In addition, there are secondary pedestrian roads that are isolated from the car roads.

Among the advantages that the pedestrian road can offer are:

  • Reducing environmental pollution resulting from vehicle exhausts.
  • Lighting along the pedestrian path at night.
  • Conserving or giving more attention to green areas.
  • separating between the vehicle road and the pedestrian path to maintain public safety.
  • Creating a safe environment for pedestrians inside the campus to reduce environmental pollution resulting from toxic emissions from vehicles.
  • Helping to change the culture of society by dedicating more interest in walking to the workplace.
  • Maintaining the transportation service provided by the university for the purpose of running buses to transport employees and students from the main gate to all the colleges, affiliated to the university back and forth on a specific and safe track line. Such services are submitted to periodical maintenance to all wheels in rotation for the purpose of repairing and prolonging their life. Statistically, the University owns 33 buses inside the university campus. Their work is limited to transporting university students, staff, and visitors to bus stations located inside the university, and from the residential areas to the university on a regular basis, with nominal fees.

Transportation Lines

The University of Baghdad provides a transportation service for its members, to and from their place of residence, through several transportation lines that pass through the areas of the capital, Baghdad, and through most of the surrounding cities.
